I was able to walk all four corners of the property easily and the land was mostly flat. The area was covered with grasses and a few shrubs, but nothing else. Cell phone signal was excellent with 4-5 bars (Verizon).

Canyon de Chelly is home to Navajo families who raise livestock and farm the canyons. The national monument was authorized in 1931 by President Herbert Hoover to preserve important archeological resources that span more than 5,000 years of human occupation.
Canyon de Chelly National Monument is a vast park in northeastern Arizona, on Navajo tribal lands. Its prominent features include Spider Rock spire, about 800-feet tall, and towering sandstone cliffs surrounding a verdant canyon. Inhabited by several Native American peoples for millennia, the area is dotted with prehistoric rock art. The White House Ruins and Mummy Cave are remains of ancient Pueblo villages.
Four Corners Monument
Part of the Navajo Nation Parks & Rec system, the Four Corners Monument marks the only point in the United States shared by four states: Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, and Utah. Take home a momento from your visit by purchasing authentic native art directly from the artisan at the thriving vendor market. When making plans, keep in mind that this is a rural area without accommodations and limited services.
Monument Valley Tribal Park
The Navajo Nation Monument Valley Park is one of the most photographed points on earth. Located on the Arizona-Utah border, the breathtaking red sand desert region is known for its towering sandstone buttes up to 1,000 feet high and miles of mesas and buttes, shrubs, trees, and windblown sand
On a scenic road trip through Northern Arizona, Monument Valley’s iconic landscapes inspire visitors.
Located in Northern Arizona, Monument Valley’s collection of crimson mesas and towering sandstone buttes captures colors that appear only in nature. The astonishing scenic beauty of the pristine desert landscape also reflects the reverence Arizona’s tribal communities have for the land. Please be respectful of Navajo Nation regulations when visiting Monument Valley to help preserve this ancient site.
Monument Valley is maintained as a visitor attraction by Navajo Nation Parks & Recreation. Visitors are welcome to drive the 17-mile dirt loop, Valley Drive, on self-guided tours of the valley. Multiple parking areas along the way bring many of the park’s most spectacular rock formations into view. Or set off on the only public hike in the valley, an easy 3-mile loop trail that takes visitors to Mitten Butte, one of the most iconic landmarks of the American West. Visitors can also join guided Jeep tours for up-close views of ancient cliff dwellings and natural arches in more isolated locations.
Located in the heart of the Navajo Indian Nation near the base of the Chuska Mountains, Wheatfields Lake offers abundant cold-water fishing, camping, and picnicking opportunities.
